We like good music. We like good online radio. We love Frisky.

That’s why you see now the Frisky widget on the right column, after our survey. The widget is on beta release, it means that could be subject to variations, modifications and, yes, cancellation.

You can listen it also as an page-indipendent online radio, just clicking on the button on the right of the volume control.

Click on it, a little windows come up and… voilà, you have the radio on and you can work, read our reviews, comment them… without the risk to close it accidentally.

So, feelin’ frisky now?

Due to selections making and “behind the site” working, the reviewing is a little bit calm.

Reviews will be published for sure, but not at the same rhythm of the usual time.

But there is a good news, anyway, and the good one is that — after the one already released —  we have ready two brand new selections to release really soon.

The first one is another electro selection, with a mix of genre like goa, progressive, electro house and so on, not downtempo but with a “dancefloor” rhythm and velocity.

The second one is a house selection, with various type of house: from tribal to electro, from underground to deep.

So, stay tuned as well.

We have some coming news for you. Sure.

Until now we focused on selecting and reviewing the best free music all around the world, and we are continuing on that. Until now we found various genres of music: electronic, rock, pop, blues, hip-hop, soundtrack and many more.

Recently we focused on have at least 2 reviews per week, one at monday and one at thursday. We introduced some new feature and still working to do that again.

So, which kind of news we’ll have for this brand new year?

First of all, we are working on a new layout. This temporary white&gray one will be substituted with a black based, cool and better usable layout. A good restyling to get all the best from Jamazine.

New features — that we silently tested on the website and now are official and supported — are:

1. Similar suggested albums: at the end of the review you now have a “Do you like it? Try also…” box with 5 random albums to listen for;
2. Number of tracks: in every review you will soon see the number of tracks contained in the album;
3. Staff rating: in every review you have now our rating, composed by 3 kind of value: idea, performance and mixing / registration;
4. Voting system: you can now comment and vote every review

And last, but not least, we will release soon a state of art compilations (mixed or not, it depends on genres of music).

50 is a good number. For us it’s a magic one.

We finally reached the number of 50 reviews published on Jamazine. Weeew!

First of all we wish to thank all the fan who are already reading everyday which new album we found out, keeping our project to their bookmarks and making Jamazine a great project, even if it’s still a baby.

This is a real good reason to continue working hard.

During this 50 reviews we reached some other number.

Since now, we “talked” about 18 musical genres: blues, chillout, easy listening, electronic, flamenco, funk, hip-hop, house, jazz, lounge, pop, reggae, rock, soul, tango, trip-hop, vocal acapella, world.

We reached the amazing number of 30 countries all around the world, so we have peoples from: Brazil, Italy, United States, Sweden, Russia, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, India, Poland, Philippines, Morocco, Venezuela, France, Senegal, Argentina, Turkey, Belgium, Latvia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Uruguay, Mexico, Japan, China, Qatar, Israel.

In these 30 countries 244 peoples have read us.

And these peoples has reached the number of 1.699 page views.

We know you’re already appreciating the album’s preview inside every review, and also know that it’s a good way to meet the artist, especially when he/she/they is/are unknown. And we think that the interviews that we’ll publish as soon as possible will be a new way to do that.

But we also know that if we can show you them, could be better than that. Huh?!

So that’s why we introduced “The Eye“, the video section on Jamazine. Tha’ts an experimental area, just placed on the home page, at now. We hope to extend it as soon as we’ll have a good number of videos to show you.

We have a 10, to start.

Over 200 reviews to publish. Other 200 about to check for publishing.

We found new net labels and artists to know, listen and review. Many of them seem to be good to insert in Jamazine.

In the next days we count to publish at least 50 further reviews for your pleasure: jazz, electronic, rock, ambient, pop and hip-hop. In the meanwhile we are working inside Jamazine to get ready with user registration and some media tool.

After a lot of work… Jamazine is finally born!

Let me say something about it…

This is the first step of a brand new online magazine about free quality music. We are now working on publishing all the reviews we already wrote, testing the layout (we are using a poor but stable one at now) and making the contents ready to go completely online.

In the next months we’ll open the magazine to comments and community tools (yep, we wish to have at least a voting system ready to use really soon). Of course during this time we’ll work on platform to add useful tools, too.

If this is the first time that you meet Jamazine, maybe you are interested to know something about us.

We choosed to publish the contents under the Creative Content Attribution-Share Alike 3.0, so you can use our work to do something creative and useful, according to the philosophy behind free music and open-source software all around the world.

Is it a commercial project? Not exactly.

We love to share music, and of course we don’t want peoples have to pay to access to the contents we publish but we wish to be free to get money from our work, in order to offer everyday a good quality package. And let Jamazine have a long long life.

That’s why we’ll may have shop or some other sided commercial idea in the future.

For sure we won’t ask for money on the content published. Content means reviews, articles, interviews and, of course, music.
