Second review for this artist on Jamazine! We like it because of his acoustirock-indie-NIN-influenced groove on his generous 11-tracks album!

Fresh Body Shop is an already knew artist here on Jamazine, already reviewed with his The Ugly Army about one year ago.

Today is here again, with a great acoustic album: Director’s Cut. It contains a touch of Trent Reznor singing and NIN atmospheres, blended with great indie rock groove.

We like to start with Twins, a nice country-styled with a great refrain on a acoustic-guitar-no-rhythm groove. We really appreciate it.

Next Home has slower rhythm, good arrangements and it’s really tasting, especially on intense moments. A perfect acoustic rock pearl.

And now, let’s increase the speed with Voodoo Doll, Translucid and the title track Director’s Cut. Three good and faster tracks to let you dance!

Take a preview on Jamendo:

Interesting electronic EP, with minimal atmospheres and good groove.

Good electronic music from Luxembourg!

It’s a 4-tracks EP, with minimal atmospheres and a massive techno / trance fingerprint on all the tracks. If you like fat sounds on heavy rhythm-line, you’ll find it your favourite track for sure.

The most ethereal, enchanting and hypnotic — so the one we prefere over all — is the 1024th Floor. It’s an instrumental track that bring you inside a new dimension, through a stellar trip, from one galaxy to another.

Under My Skin and It’s Your Life are the most minimal ones, with good atmospheres, funny singing over an always present electronic arpeggiator.

If you like the fast&furious groove, you’ll like Illusive. An hypno-fast-trance-techno-vocal track with a great bass and rhythm line.

Take a preview on Jamendo:

The Dada Weatherman is Jonathan’s folk project, a young songwriter (20) from France, trained piano player but guitar player in the soul (from his own confession). — from biography on MySpace.

After many EPs, we are really pleased to review this complete album, with 13 tasty tracks.

If you like calm, warm and silky feelings, and if you like blues, folk and country, we really think you’ll appreciate this work from a real young musicians. A sound that feels british with his characteristic and melancholic singing, but comes from France.

Starting the selection of our preferred tracks, we suggest you the first opening track Song To Paris. We really like the arrangements and the groove.

A good country-folk influence is felt inside the Ballad of a Sad Man. It’s not a downtempo song, but it’s really relaxing as well.

Yellow Gold, the second top listened track on Jamendo, and Pacific Sailor are the second ones we like on this album. We love the groove, with its acoustic well played guitars.

Let we close with a “fast” country song. Ufo is not really funny, not really solar, but it’s probably the most “light” track of the whole album, with great acoustic guitar solo and country groove.

We had selected this EP because is an interesting example of the far east electronic music.

Grünemusik is a unit, owned by Hiraku, that start to publishing since 2000 in Japan.

The sound is really clear, fresh and minimal.

Vocally it’s funny and synthetic, very japanese-style!

This EP is composed by an original main tack, number 1, an instrumental version (3rd track) and an original “riddim” (4rd track) that is a composed by a drum pattern and a prominent bass line.

A great warm pop rock electro album. Great female voice on a good groove baseline and performance.

Miss Yakaba and Fillindia, two talented promises on the scene.

Wash your hands of it is a very good, warm and intensive album for all the stages. They skilfully blended electronic with acoustic sounds, electro music with acoustic rock, passing through blues, ethnic and soul influences.

Very tasty and pleasant.

The opening track, Strong enough, starts with an ethnic rhythm loop to introduce a warm soul-blues melodic female singing, with a great surprise at the end of it.

The same name track Wash your hands of it instead, open itself with an electronic sound and continues with a saucy way, but truly intensive.

Call me back is the most faster track of the album, with a great groove and a great acoustic guitar “pad”.

We truly love the closing track Infatuation (maybe is the right title for us ) with its downtempo groove, that pretty smoky atmosphere that remember a bit of the anguished and experienced Pink Floyd sound and the female-male voice duet.

Take a preview on Jamendo:

Allison: she is always a great artist!

We really like this artist because she produce always music of hight quality. We are speakin about her voice, she is a great singer, powerfull and charismatic, and also about the arrangement of all the songs.

Lisa’s song, the first track of this album, is an example of the talent of this artist: vocally and instrumentally complete, elegant execution. The song was write to remember the story of a friend of Allison, Lisa Marie, went missing in 2002.

Maybe the most lively song of the seven, Midnight, join together pop and instrumental music.

We also really like Philosophy, the last track, because of it’s syncopated rhythm: the voice of the singer offer a marvellous proof of talent.

This is a close album, elegant, that sweep into the folk and instrumental music, with some times pieces of rock and melodic sounds.

Great eclectic sound from this finnish band! This selection is a collection of remixes of their songs, very tasty!

With a mix of house music, rock and pop sounds, atmospheres and riffs sometime remembering INXS and Pet Shop Boys, Viola is a band — a duet — really talented that produces good and tasty music.

This is one of the two remixes album they have released, in addition to other original albums like Wonderabilia, one of the most mature made by this band.

Every track is an independent world, with sounds, metrics and style.

We really like the opening track Sad Eyes Disco Dancers with its electronic rude bass and the classic drumset, we also like the singing, well performed.

A different taste, more incisive and housie (let me write it so) is Violentia (Boys OF Scandinavia Remix) with its great bass and that INXS guitar riff. More morbid, with spatial atmospheres and 80′s sounds, City Silhouette (Roger Remix) recalls some Pet Shop Boys sound and a little singing “deja-vu” from Battle For Britain by David Bowie. The tracks flow perfectly, your legs need to dance and you’ll feel so good.

Pretty experimental are Deepspeed /Kris Kylven Reconstruction & Remix) and Kiss And Break Up (Verneri Lumi Remix), maybe the most ones electronical of the entire album. Really different, and we really like them.

Bonjour à la chansonfrançaise! One melodic album, rich of blues, jazz and instrumental influence. It can be compared with a soft, sweet, little pink candy. Taste it!

Sweet album…

The voice, warm and soft, envelop you in an pink, foggy atmosphere.

You are eating a big ice cream, toddling about the Luna Park, happy and thoughtless.

The first song, L’Amanite, sum up all the peculiarity of this mini-album that is really a small, juicy candy!

Very interesting the melody that pass through all the album: a composition of blues, pop, french traditional and other different kind of music.

From the capital of Uruguay, this band perform a great latin version of blues-funk-rock music. Good for every moment, especially for a summer soundtrack, all day long.

This EP is a 6-tracks work with various influences and styles inside: you can listen from rock to blues, from soul to funk, all pretty performed by 11 musicians.

The quality of this production is professional, both in performing, mixing and recording.

The opening track Cerca De Mi and Ahogando El Blues express very well a modern blues, easy to listen. If you wish to stomp your feet on a funky rhythm, then pump up the volume and play Tiene Que Cambiar and, above all, Voy A Estar Ahi.

We could consider Dame Fuerza a good folk-pop-rock — a little beat downtempo with a pretty singing —and Creo the most summer song of the album.
