Second review for this artist on Jamazine! We like it because of his acoustirock-indie-NIN-influenced groove on his generous 11-tracks album!

Fresh Body Shop is an already knew artist here on Jamazine, already reviewed with his The Ugly Army about one year ago.

Today is here again, with a great acoustic album: Director’s Cut. It contains a touch of Trent Reznor singing and NIN atmospheres, blended with great indie rock groove.

We like to start with Twins, a nice country-styled with a great refrain on a acoustic-guitar-no-rhythm groove. We really appreciate it.

Next Home has slower rhythm, good arrangements and it’s really tasting, especially on intense moments. A perfect acoustic rock pearl.

And now, let’s increase the speed with Voodoo Doll, Translucid and the title track Director’s Cut. Three good and faster tracks to let you dance!

Take a preview on Jamendo:

Let the music start…let your mind fly in a indefinite time and space…fly in the music.

Sometime psychedelic, this artist let you remeber pieces of David Bowie, Doors,Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Syd Barrett,Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The cure, The who, Beatles and, in general all the music of 60′ s and 70′s.

It’s really strange to think that plaing is a chinese boy, culturally so far from american and english music. But, if you look through the musical chinese young musician landscape, you will find an excellent musicall scene. Lonely Planet Boy 1969 has a strong musical background so the result is a mature album, dens of a great composition of different influences.

We really like the first track, Cellar Boy, that introduce you to the world of the artist using soft percussions, guitars and a grate vocal.

Also great the second track, Planet Earth’s Midnight Creature Show, so strongly influenced by the Bowie of Space Oddity.

Alf blues alf rock, track number seven mix a Ray Charles like piano with Led Zeppelin sonorities…astonishing!

The Dada Weatherman is Jonathan’s folk project, a young songwriter (20) from France, trained piano player but guitar player in the soul (from his own confession). — from biography on MySpace.

After many EPs, we are really pleased to review this complete album, with 13 tasty tracks.

If you like calm, warm and silky feelings, and if you like blues, folk and country, we really think you’ll appreciate this work from a real young musicians. A sound that feels british with his characteristic and melancholic singing, but comes from France.

Starting the selection of our preferred tracks, we suggest you the first opening track Song To Paris. We really like the arrangements and the groove.

A good country-folk influence is felt inside the Ballad of a Sad Man. It’s not a downtempo song, but it’s really relaxing as well.

Yellow Gold, the second top listened track on Jamendo, and Pacific Sailor are the second ones we like on this album. We love the groove, with its acoustic well played guitars.

Let we close with a “fast” country song. Ufo is not really funny, not really solar, but it’s probably the most “light” track of the whole album, with great acoustic guitar solo and country groove.

This EP by Donderevo is a little gift for the Xmas holidays, with nice idea to put inside not just one genre, but various songs to listen. Even if the main groove is rock.

Christmas Christmas is the opening most rock track, with a funny timbal drum to remember that it’s a Xmas song.

Christmas for One is one of the two ballads included in this EP, it’s completely performed with electric piano, voice, some bell and tambourine. Very nice.

We Will Lie Beneath is the other speediest track of the album, a little bit indie and brit rock grooved.

Holy Christmas is a rock-blues old style song. We really like, maybe is the best track of the whole EP.

And, closing this work, you find Xmas, an electronically-magically experiment. Really magic and funny.

Let we introduce you to a psychedelic and excellent rock work from the UK. A great blend of melody, rhythm and original brit sound.

Directly from United Kingdom, The Heavens bring to us a high quality 4-tracks work.

If you like bands like Oasis, The Verve or you are a fan of the myth called The Beatles, then this is the group for you.

Acoustic drums, bass, distorted guitars, hammond organ, dreamy voices and psychedelic singing… are all the ingredients of The Heavens recipe.

Second Day Blues, the opening track, has a refrain that could remember Strawberries Fields Forever by The Beatles, with an incisive guitar solo.

This Beautiful Machine is faster, lighter, with a good groove to dance and a little bit psychedelic.

More classic is If You’re Lost For Somewhere Else To Be, with great arrangements and an easy listening feeling.

But, we really like the last one called Echo Serena. It’s absolutely the most psychedelic, imaginative and inspired song of the whole EP. We like the echoed guitar, the bassline groove and the ethereal singing.

Listening this 10-track album, from the first bit, you will certnainly think to Guns & Roses, Pearl Jam and Nirvana‘s songs.

The first tack, Dinner for one, its representative of the style of the Amity in Fame: wery well palyed guitars, good rhythm, smart vocalist, comparable with some Pearl Jam’s pieces!

Excellent rhythm and an accurate sound in Relagate the Judge, fourth track, with pressing guitar’s solo and an interesting vocal duo.

In Fading away, seventh track, appeares a nice tinkling that reminds you indian sound, exotic instruments evokes distant countries and the vocalist is really glamourous: this is the song that you will not expect!

Also very interesting next track, number eight, Letters to God that recall the Evanescence just because of a female vocalist with a crystalline voice.

Cuddle your ears with this gorgeous album, you will never regret… it’s amazing!

If you like the sound of Mano Negra, Manu Chao or Modena City Ramblers, well, you’ll feel familiar with this album from Talco: Combat Circus.

This album is an energetic mix of ska, punk rock, flamenco, funk and everthing you love in the patchanka.

It’s difficult to extract a single description for every single track, that because of patchanka tends to apply very similar sounds and rhythms to every track of an album.

In any case we can tell you which ones we consider the most original and why, as well.

We love La Sedia Vuota because of its initial percussions and the “far west” atmosphere in some part of it.

Bella Ciao is a patchanka version of an old italian and famouse partisan warfare song.

Diari Perduti is the only one “slow” track of the album, with female voice and very good arrangement.

1990s nostalgia? This italian album is for you! If you love Faith No More, Annihilator of Dream Theater, then you must listen to this work from Oniric Project.

The first thing that impresses are the melodies, appealing and almost never banal.

Below them there is however a work of arrangement considerable: bass parts and drums draws rhythmics sometimes linear, other more complex, which recall the earlies Dream Theater, Faith No More and the Annihilator (in particular the album entitled Set The World On Fire).

Giutars are simply great: professional, precise and heterogeneous.

We are convinced that the greatest merit of this album is the variety of genres as moods.

The opening track, a short intro called Distant land, is a jewel of semplicity that reminds us some Queensryche‘s ballads or Pink Floyd‘s style; however the real spirit of this work comes out with the following three tracks: Time Is Mine (the titletrack), King time’s dilemma and Higher ground, in which the equilibrium between hard and scratching parts and spectacular and melodic openings is almost perfect.

We also want to highlight the track Winter/dusk, another good example of composition, and another proof that different musical genres can cohabit in the same album in a harmonious way.

A great EP, not only rock but just a bit heavy, instrumental and more…

Listening it, someone can talk about the earlier Satriani and someonelse can think about Drean Theatre, but for us this is just a great example of fresh rock, smart composition and good execution!

We like especially the second track, L’acrobara del Deserto, very well plaied, great rhythm!

A great warm pop rock electro album. Great female voice on a good groove baseline and performance.

Miss Yakaba and Fillindia, two talented promises on the scene.

Wash your hands of it is a very good, warm and intensive album for all the stages. They skilfully blended electronic with acoustic sounds, electro music with acoustic rock, passing through blues, ethnic and soul influences.

Very tasty and pleasant.

The opening track, Strong enough, starts with an ethnic rhythm loop to introduce a warm soul-blues melodic female singing, with a great surprise at the end of it.

The same name track Wash your hands of it instead, open itself with an electronic sound and continues with a saucy way, but truly intensive.

Call me back is the most faster track of the album, with a great groove and a great acoustic guitar “pad”.

We truly love the closing track Infatuation (maybe is the right title for us ) with its downtempo groove, that pretty smoky atmosphere that remember a bit of the anguished and experienced Pink Floyd sound and the female-male voice duet.
